Groundbreaking!
This morning we broke ground on the new North Tampa Branch. I worked there years ago and loved it, headed it up for 6 years. I'm excited to be the Chief over this library and thrilled the crummy old building is gone. The new one will be huge and beautiful and ready in about a year. It poured down on the ceremony but it was joyful just the same.
That's a bunch of Friends of the Library with Joe and me, wet but very happy.

Congrats on the groundbreaking... good photo of you! This totally reminded me that my mother and I went to the groundbreaking of the Homecrest library branch on Coney Island Avenue (is that where it was?) and somewhere in this house i have a very similar looking photo, but in black and white with no umbrellas:)
Yes, it was on Coney Island Ave and V! My mother and I were there too and I got to hold one of the shovels, I'd love to see the photo.
